Baan Maa ( บ้านหมา), also known as The Dog House, is a labor of love born from our deep passion for animal welfare. What started as a simple idea has blossomed into a heartfelt mission, driven by years of dedication, hands-on experience, and an unwavering commitment to helping animals in need.
We—Becca and Jok—have collectively spent over 20 years working with wildlife, elephants, and dogs. Through this journey, we’ve witnessed the challenges animals face in our region of Thayang Phetchaburi. It became clear that we needed to bring our passion home, and from that realization, Baan Maa was born.
For the past five years, I, Becca, have poured my heart into finding loving homes for cats and dogs, facilitating adoptions both locally and internationally. From the UK to the US, Canada to Germany, and beyond, I’ve ensured that these animals find safe, caring homes where they can thrive.
Jok, on the other hand, has always been about direct action. Whether it’s rescuing dogs in need of urgent medical care, forming bonds with stray packs through food, or providing field treatment for wounds, Jok’s dedication is the heartbeat of our rescue efforts. Together, we knew we had to do more.
Baan Maa emerged from our shared dream to make a real difference for homeless animals and to support families who struggle to provide for their beloved pets. In Thayang, a small district in Phetchaburi, many people work in agriculture and, despite their love for their pets, often face financial challenges that make it hard to afford proper food and veterinary care.
Our mission with Baan Maa is to bridge this gap by assisting with access to veterinary care, daily nourishment, and a safe haven for animals in need. We’re also dedicated to finding loving homes for abandoned animals, giving them the second chance they deserve. Through Baan Maa, we’re not just offering help; we’re nurturing a compassionate community where every animal has the chance to live a healthy, happy life.
