At Baan Maa, we rely on kind-hearted travellers to help us bring rescued dogs from Thailand to their forever homes abroad. By becoming a flight volunteer, you can make a life-changing impact on an animal’s journey — simply by adding them to your flight as extra luggage. We handle all the paperwork, logistics, and costs, so all you need to do is meet the dog at the airport in Bangkok and escort them safely to their new family.
Being a flight volunteer is simple and rewarding. We’ll guide you through each step:
1. Share your travel details with us.
2. Meet the dog at the airport in Bangkok before your flight.
3. Check them in as part of your baggage (we cover all extra fees).
4. On arrival, meet the dog again and hand them to their new family or our rescue partner.
That’s it! You travel as planned — with the added joy of knowing you’ve given a rescued dog the chance of a lifetime.
If you’re travelling internationally from Thailand, becoming a flight volunteer is easy.

Yes! The animals will travel as checked baggage, so it doesn’t matter if your airline doesn’t allow pets in the cabin.
Simply send us your travel details via our form or email, and we’ll check if your flight aligns with one of our pending adoptions. If it does, we’ll take care of the rest.
At the moment, flight volunteering is for international flights only. However, you can help in other ways by donating or sharing our mission with friends and family!
Most flight volunteers only need to dedicate a few extra minutes at check-in and upon arrival to ensure the animal is safely transferred.
Yes, all animals are vaccinated, microchipped, and medically cleared for travel.
Transporting animals internationally is expensive, and flight volunteers help reduce costs so more animals can reach their forever homes. Without volunteers, many rescues wouldn’t be able to make it abroad.
