Adopting your pet from Thailand to the UK is straightforward, and we take care of every detail to ensure a smooth experience. Our experienced team will guide you through each step, making the process easy and stress-free.

Step 1: Rabies Titer Test (RTT)
The first step involves taking a blood sample from your pet here in Thailand, which is then sent to an approved lab to verify that your dog has developed sufficient rabies antibodies. The cost of this test is included in the overall travel expenses. Once your pet passes the RTT, they will be eligible to travel three months after the sample is taken, without the need for quarantine. At Baan Maa, we do not charge an adoption fee, and all of our animals are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Adopters are only responsible for covering the costs of the travel crate, titer test, flight(s), and pet taxi.

Getting Your Pet to the UK: Two Options

  1. Accompanied Baggage (Via Amsterdam or Paris)
Currently, animals cannot enter the UK directly as accompanied baggage. Instead, your pet will be flown to Amsterdam or Paris, where they will then be transported by land or sea to a meeting point in England. The final cost depends on the size of your pet, the airline used, and the destination. Our team will provide you with detailed information during the adoption process.

  2. Flying by Manifested Cargo
Pets can enter the UK directly as manifested cargo, which is more expensive but allows for quicker arrival on a date of your choice. Depending on the airline, your pet can land at London Heathrow, Manchester, or Edinburgh. If you choose this option, we will connect you with a third-party UK cargo clearance agent, whom you will need to work with directly. The payment for cargo clearance will be made directly to the agent.

Upon arrival, you will need to collect your pet from the animal reception area at the airport. For London Heathrow (LHR), allow four to five hours after the arrival time before collection. Please check with your clearance agent for information about other airports. If the adopter cannot prove they have been in Thailand within a few days of the animal’s arrival, the pet will be classified as a commercial import, and an additional duty will be charged. As with all travel options, the final cost will depend on the size of your pet, the airline, and the destination.

No matter which option you choose, our goal is to ensure your pet’s safe and comfortable journey to their new home in the UK. We’re here to support you every step of the way and make the adoption process as seamless as possible.

Adopting your pet from Thailand to Europe is straightforward, and we handle every detail to ensure a smooth experience for you and your new companion. Our experienced team will guide you through each step, making the process easy and worry-free.

Step 1: Rabies Titer Test (RTT)
The first step involves taking a blood sample from your pet here in Thailand. This sample is then sent to an approved laboratory to confirm that your dog has developed sufficient rabies antibodies. The cost of this test is included in the overall travel expenses. Once your pet passes the RTT, they will be eligible to travel three months after the sample is taken, without the need for quarantine. At Baan Maa, we don’t charge an adoption fee, and all of our animals are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. Adopters are only responsible for covering the costs of the travel crate, titer test, and flight(s).

Getting Your Pet to Europe: Two Options

  1. Accompanied Baggage with a Flight Volunteer
One of the most economical ways to bring your new pet to Europe is by using a flight volunteer. We work diligently to match animals with volunteers who can accompany them on their journey. This method helps keep costs down and provides a more personal travel experience for your pet. While finding a flight volunteer may take some time—sometimes a month or two—we are committed to making this happen as quickly as possible. Our team will keep you informed of available volunteers and provide detailed cost information during the adoption process.

  2. Flying by Manifested Cargo
Alternatively, your pet can travel to Europe as manifested cargo. This option allows your pet to arrive on a specific date that suits your schedule. Although this method is more expensive, it offers flexibility and convenience. Your pet will travel in a comfortable, climate-controlled crate. We will provide you with a detailed cost estimate based on your pet’s size, the airline, and the destination. Not all cities accept live cargo, so if you choose this option, we’ll verify the nearest suitable airport for your adopted pet’s arrival.

No matter which option you choose, our goal is to ensure your pet’s safe and comfortable journey to their new home in Europe. We’re here to support you every step of the way and make the adoption process as seamless as possible.

Your pet will travel in a comfortable, climate-controlled crate with access to water. We will provide a detailed cost estimate based on your pet’s size, the airline, and the destination as part of the adoption process.

No matter which option you choose, our goal is to ensure your pet’s safe and comfortable journey to their new home in the USA. We’re here to support you every step of the way and make the adoption process as seamless as possible.

Unfortunately, we are unable to adopt dogs to Canada at this time unless they are accompanied by their owner. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency’s (CFIA) measure prohibiting the entry of commercial dogs from countries at high-risk for dog rabies, implemented these restrictions on September 28, 2022.

Adopting your animal to Canada is a very simple process, and we will assist you with all of the necessary steps.

Dogs travelling with their owner can travel as accompanied baggage on the owners flight.
