Augie's Rescue Story

Augie's journey to Baan Maa has been a little more complicated than most. Before coming into our care, he had already been passed between homes and eventually found himself abandoned beside a highway. Thankfully, he was found by a couple who took him in and tried to give him a home alongside their existing dog. Things initially went well, but as Augie settled in, resource guarding and territorial behaviour began to cause problems between the two dogs. Rather than risk the situation getting worse, they reached out to Baan Maa for help. When Augie came into our care, what he really needed was stability, routine and the chance to figure out where he belonged. Today, Augie lives with our resident dogs just up the road from Baan Maa, where he remains under our care. Having space to explore and the freedom to enjoy life has allowed us to see the real Augie: a playful, affectionate and adventurous young dog who loves being outdoors. He enjoys the company of other dogs and loves to play, although he can be selective with some males. He also spends time around our three-year-old and is comfortable with children, but he appreciates having his boundaries respected and does not enjoy being teased or continually pestered. Augie loves walks, swimming, exploring and simply being outside. He is toilet trained and has settled well into everyday life with our resident dogs. The most important thing for Augie's future home is space. He is not a dog who will be happy spending his life confined to a small area or regularly locked away. He needs a home where he can enjoy the outdoors, explore, run and have the freedom to be himself. After being moved around so much early in life, Augie deserves a home that understands the dog he is and gives him the life he has been looking for.
