What We Do
Rescue
Every day, our small team responds to calls for help from dogs in distress. From busy roads to temple grounds, we bring them to safety and give them their first real chance at care and comfort.
Medical
At Baan Maa, every dog receives the treatment they need to heal; vaccinations, sterilisation, surgery, or just the patience to recover from trauma. Our trusted local vets work closely with us to make sure no dog is left to suffer.
Adoption
When our dogs are healthy, confident, and ready for the next chapter, we help them find homes both in Thailand and overseas. From Phetchaburi to Scotland, our adopters become part of the Baan Maa family.
Rehabilitation & Sanctuary Life
Many of our dogs have experienced neglect or cruelty. At our sanctuary in Thayang, Phetchaburi, they find peace. Space to roam, food to eat, friends to play with, and the love they need to rebuild trust.
Sterilisation & Community Work
We partner with local communities to manage dog populations humanely through sterilisation, vaccination, and education. These programmes protect both dogs and people, helping to reduce disease and prevent new generations of unwanted strays.
Advocacy & Awareness
Baan Maa speaks for those who can’t speak for themselves. We raise awareness about cruelty, abandonment, and the need for sterilisation, giving a voice to dogs who are too often forgotten.

When we found Coco, she was chained up in filth, forced to live beside her own waste, her body weak from overbreeding and neglect. Her eyes were cloudy from untreated infections and every rib showed through her fragile frame. She had so many litters that her body could barely recover. Each time someone lifted a hand, even just to grab something from a shelf, she would cower and crawl forward in fear, desperate to please and terrified to exist.
Today, Coco is safe. She has gained weight, her eyes have healed, and she is learning what kindness feels like. She adores her walks with the other dogs and lights up when someone she trusts calls her name. After everything she has been through, she is still pure love, and she is waiting for a home that will never hurt her again.

When someone hit Dipsy with their car, they didn’t stop. They left her by the roadside, unable to move her hind legs. Her owner rushed her to the vet but couldn’t afford the treatment, and she was taken back home to suffer in silence.
By the time we found her, Dipsy’s spine was broken and her skin was raw from draggting herself on the hard ground. Her family loved her but wanted her to have a chance at a pain-free life, so they made the difficult decision to surrender her to us.
At Baan Maa, Dipsy received urgent care and began a long journey of healing. With time, love, and rehabilitation, her strength returned and so did her joy.
Today there’s no stopping her. Once she’s in her drag bag she’s off, playing with the other dogs, chasing toys, and living the happy life she was always meant to have.

When we first spotted Khao Hom, his foot was badly injured and he was terrified of people. We had no choice but to use a dart to catch him safely and get him to the vet. X-rays showed an old fracture that had turned into a serious infection and the leg couldn’t be saved.
After surgery, Khao Hom faced a long recovery. At first, all he wanted was to escape, desperate to get as far away as possible. But slowly, something changed. He realised he was safe. He started to approach us, wag his tail, and even make new friends.
Khao Hom’s rehabilitation wasn’t just about learning to live on three legs, it was about learning to trust again. And he’s done just that.
Today, he’s confident, happy, and finally ready for a home of his own. Mission complete.

When we first found Rambo, he was skin and bone, so malnourished that his eyes had sunken into his face, making him look like an old dog even though he was still young. He’d been kept in a filthy breeding environment, surrounded by waste, left to fend for himself with barely enough food to survive. Yet, even in that moment, his tail wagged. There was still hope in his eyes, and that made it all the more heartbreaking.
With months of good food, gentle care, and patience, Rambo began to transform. His coat grew glossy, his body regained strength, and his personality burst through. It turns out he’s full of life; playful, funny, and always ready for affection.
Today, Rambo is healthy, happy, and training for life in a real home. He’s proof that even after years of neglect, some spirits refuse to break, they just need someone to believe in them.

Champ was one of the regulars on our local feeding run, always the first to come bounding over at dinner time, tail wagging and eyes bright. But one day, he didn’t run. He limped toward us, favouring his hind leg, and we could tell straight away that something was seriously wrong.
At the vet, X-rays revealed that his leg had dislocated from the hip and would need surgery. But when his blood tests came back, the news got worse. His levels were too low for the operation. Before we could fix his leg, we had to save his strength.
After two long weeks of care and good nutrition, Champ finally had surgery to remove the damaged part of his femur and began his long road to recovery. Months of physio followed, and he faced every step with determination.
Today, Champ is back to full health – strong, playful, and full of life. He’s now one of the most social dogs at Baan Maa, loved by everyone he meets. After everything he’s been through, his name couldn’t be more fitting; he’s a true champion.
We can’t save every dog in Thailand, but for the ones we reach, your kindness changes everything
